We are aware of concerns regarding parcel thefts in the local area. At present, we do not have sufficient data to reflect these concerns. Please report all incidents to the police this helps us monitor trends and target resources effectively. Parcel thieves are opportunistic. They often steal deliveries left outside homes and may return to the same address if they know parcels are frequently left unchecked. ✅ Steps to Protect Your ParcelsTrack your parcel and ensure someone is home for delivery.Arrange delivery to a trusted neighbour if you’ll be away.Use off-site locker services for frequent deliveries. These are common in convenience stores, car parks, supermarkets etc. Most major couriers have this service.Install a video doorbell, if able, for instant notifications and easy evidence sharing with the police.Nominate a “safe place” that is discreet and not visible from the road/street/pavement.Complain to the delivery company if they ignore your instructions.📜 Consumer Rights Act 2015Under the Act: The retailer, not the courier, is responsible for goods until they are delivered to you.If a parcel is stolen after being left somewhere you did not authorise, the retailer is likely in breach of contract and must offer a refund or replacement.If you nominated a “safe place” (e.g., doorstep, behind a bin) and the parcel is stolen from there, you will likely be considered the victim of theft rather than the retailer.Always check and update your delivery preferences with the retailer. 🚔 Reporting to PoliceReport via 101, 999 (in emergencies), or online at www.met.police.uk/ro/report.Keep your reference number.Do not confront suspects, your safety comes first.Share any images or video with police; these will be used for intelligence and enforcement.For more crime prevention advice, visit www.met.police.uk/burglary.
